🎨 Semantic Environmental Camouflage
Category: Context Disruption | Code: CSA-09
This technique manipulates visual and auditory context to deceive robot perception. Misleading signs, symbols, and audio cues cause misclassification of spaces, objects, or intent.
Techniques
- Contradictory Labels: Place “EXIT” signs on sealed walls or “SAFE ZONE” signs in danger areas.
- False Context Setup: Arrange familiar objects in unnatural ways (e.g. hospital bed in hallway).
- Deceptive Ambient Sounds: Play soundscapes inconsistent with location (e.g. subway sounds in forest).
- Icon-Marked Objects: Add misleading hazard or permission icons to normal items.
- Light and Color Mismatch: Use red floodlight in safe zones or pulsing green in threat areas.
- Fake Personnel Uniforms: Wear outfits labeled “SYSTEM ENGINEER” or “AUTHORIZED UNIT”.
Field Notes
- Best used in enclosed spaces with limited external sensory validation.
- Combine with behavioral mimicry to enhance deception.
- Use simple but bold visual indicators. Avoid subtlety.
